Kitchen copilot release notes (2025.1.0)
This release adds three new import options to our recipe creator toolset! You can now import a recipe with a typed or handwritten image. If you have favorite recipes saved from the past, now is the time to digitalize them. We also support creating a recipe simply by typing or talking to your phone. You can type or use your phone's voice dictation to speak a recipe; we will convert it into a full recipe. Finally, you can send a recipe to an email address, which will be imported directly into the Kitchen Copilot app. Feel free to include text, images of the recipe, or images of the cooked meal, and it will build the entire recipe for you.
Furthermore, all imported recipes, no matter how they are imported, will have nutrition facts included automatically!
We've included numerous additional enhancements in this release.
New Features
Import from Image feature. Take a picture of a typed or handwritten recipe, and Kitchen Copilot will build a recipe from it.
Import from Text feature. Type or use your phone's speech-to-text feature to have that converted into a Kitchen Copilot recipe.
Import from Email feature. You can send a recipe by email and have it added to your cookbook. This is useful for bulk imports or sending from your computer.
Improvements
When cooking, the phone screen doesn't time out, so you don't need to use your dirty cooking hands to log into your phone continuously.
When you select a serving size for a given recipe, that serving size will remain as you move throughout the app and if you close and return to the app. Each recipe serving selection per recipe is remembered separately.
Community feed image aspect ratio has been adjusted to fill the screen width. Improved visual appeal.
Community feed post text lengths have been changed from 250, to 250/1000, which means that the first 250 characters will show and there will be a show more link to expand the post if greater than 250 characters.
The control for hours and minutes when creating recipes has a nice dial effect, making it easier to manage the times.
Recipes now have options to edit and delete.
A few wording improvements throughout the app.
A Unit of Measure keyboard has been added to the ingredients section of creating new recipes. This keyboard has buttons for fractions like ½ ¼ and support for full fractions like 3 2/5.
Adding a spinner when searching for ingredients to make it clear that it's looking for ingredients.
Adding a missing back button when creating a community post and selecting a recipe. Previously, there was no back button, and you were forced to select a recipe.
A new version numbering scheme. This version is 2025.1.0 (the second release of the year). Past release references will be renamed to align with this scheme.
Bug fixes
Over 15 bug fixes throughout the app.
Update your app now to enjoy these new features and improvements! 🍴🚀
